Extend Invitations to Winter Holiday Parties (Business and Personal) • Example Letters, Guides and Samples

Guides

Christmas or holiday parties can range from very casual to extremely formal and traditional. The invitation should reflect the tone of the party you are planning. The letter of invitation is very often a form letter and need not be personalized, though a brief personal note is not out of place. All information the party goer will need should be included.

How to write this holiday letter:

  1. Announce the party and extend the invitation.
  2. Give date, time, location, and any other pertinent information. State if an RSVP is required. Let your guests know what type of refreshments, if any, to expect.

Come celebrate the holiday season at the Doe home on Friday December 8, at 7:00 p.m. We'll roast chestnuts, sing carols, eat Christmas treats, jingle bells, and drink old-fashioned eggnog. We'll even enjoy live Christmas music from the Doe quartet. Don't forget to bring that wrapped gift you didn't want from last year. Unless snow flakes or jolly old elves block the traffic, the party is on!

Special activities for children will begin at 3:00 p.m. Please RSVP with the number of persons who will accompany you. Dress is casual.
